What is your favorite job to have in a party (besides your job :-)

Nothing like a nuker to balance things out.

I don't mind healing as a RDM, but the one thing I really can't do well is nuking (maybe later when I get refresh so these spells dont kill me;;)

not sure, it has kinda changed, it all depends on your lv I think, some job, do different things depending on lv. This a tough one. Considering lv and area, back in the dunes, I would say whm cause hard to find one there, and you always seem to not find party cause no healers. as rdm I spent my whole time in dunes as main healer. but know I higher lv, hard to say what I would like now, I can do fine without whm always have. I haven't partied with a Brd so don't really know how great they are. Smn at this lv are nice if they have Fenrir, with that bloodpact they use that raises all stats, it pleases whole party. I really think it all depends on the lv and the job you are. A thf would probably prefer (at the higher lv) a party where they could successfully SATA. So I think it all depends.

This was a crappy poll, I apologize. It's crappy because typically there are multiple awesome counterparts to your job at different levels, just like what Kyler said.

That being said, I can tell you the ones I prefer as a Monk.

PLD : These guys are the only tanks I've played with that can hold hate when I am in their party. NIN or WAR can never compete with me for hate, and thus, I tend to take a beating. Between flash, cover, and cure, these mofo's can keep the mob locked on thme like no other.
SMN & BRD : These two are roughly in the same place in my list. Both make me feel like my MNK is the most uber character in the game. Dexterious Etude, Garuda's AoE blink and haste spells, *drool*
RDM : Okay, I was a RDM-hater in my 30s. They couldn't heal as well as a SMN/WHM or a dedicated WHM, they couldn't melee worth crap, and a lot of their enfeebles were weak compared to a SMN or BRD. I felt bad about it because I had so many RDM friends, but whenever a party I was in was trying to choose between a RDM and a SMN or BRD, I voted SMN or BRD all the way.

But now that I am 52, I am seeing just how god-like RDMs are. Holy cow. Refresh makes downtime next to nothing, convert gives them double the MP every 7 minutes (that's the cool down, right?), and they can heal and MB with the best of them. Dang!

Bear in mind, those are just some of my favorite jobs to party with as a MNK right now. No offense intended to any of my friends who may not be these jobs :-)
