Does anybody understand this yet? I stood in Al Zahbi for over 2 hours today, getting excited about some beastman on their way to attack. I was there when their forces were at 98...and finally had to leave when their forces were at 102.

I, along with the 10,390,389 others in the area assumed they would be en route at 100...but this wasn't the case. Given this is only the 2nd attack on the area since the expansion, I realy don't expect anyone to know what is going on.

Too bad I had to leave and never got to see the enemy attack, if they even have yet >_<

So, how do you think one predicts an attack so they don't have to waste so much time doing nothing in town...

/bmap

/bmap brings up the Besieged Map and you can glance around.

No one seems to know the real minimums for a Besieged to begin. You can't have all three 'tribes' of Beastmen in Training, that is known.

After Training I think the next stage is Deploying or some such. It seems that the number of Beastmen only increase if they still have 'arcane' or 'archaic' mirrors in their strongholds. So doubtful a Besieged will begin with zero mirrors in existence (mirror counts are also listed on /bmap)

Vivec says you have a fifteen-minute warning when the game says one of the forces is 'marching' or 'moving'. You get that in your log if you are in the two Aht Urhgan cities. It also shows up for one of the enemy forces on the /bmap

So what I saw was only one force in training, and maybe two deploying, and maybe all three had mirrors. Then one enemy force got to be about 140 folks (the undead) then headed to attack the capital city at the north gate. I saw a message in the log and the text in /bmap changed: one force was still in training, one was building or deploying, one was marching or moving.

If you have dial-up or a PS2 you suffer horrible lag when the mobs appear inside of the gate, but we have cable here and a PC so I got to use up all my MP on Banishga. I was up on the ramparts, preparing to start casting away when a Cut-Scene started showing blue snake-ladies. Cut-Scene ended and the Banishga began.

I found the Besieged Battle to be fun if lacking in rewards.

Why is it that Besieged has not begun and you have been waiting at the gates for four hours over the weekend? It is because the players are getting Imperial Signet (forget its actual name) and heading outside to earn Imperial Points to convert into Imperial Money by killing Beastmen and destroying Mirrors.

O_o

So the attack finally happened at 112, over an hour from when I left. With 20910293481209 people, and only 20 mobs, it was really a laughable matter. Then again, this is still a lvl 1 attack....and I heard it consisted of not even 10% of the number of mobs that may attack...which sounds quite fun actually.

I'll just stick to leveling the new jobs, and assault for now until this besieged thing picks up.

Yeeea

This is what happened on Hades and Queztalcoatl:

The besiged event began. You have to allow them to enter the city THEN kill them to get Imperial points or something like that.

Well, everybody lvl 75 and their lvl 75 brothers were all camping OUTSIDE the city, killing the mobs as they spawned.

There were some 700 level 75 players killing the mobs. So of course the mobs go slaughtered, none entered the city, and no one got any Imperial points.

So Besieged is supposed to be something for lvl 60-75 players, just not 700 of them. (No, im not exaggerating).

Once the expansion craze dies down, it will even out. All the lvl 75 ppl wont be camping the spawn points and it will become more challangeing.
