When I grow up
Submitted by Malkier on Fri, 07/14/2006 - 09:05.

When I grow up I want to be just like Him.

He's a lvl 75WHM. All the mobs in this video, which is about 13 mins long, are NM's. Most of them he solo'd.

/cheer

Something to look forward to as a taru whm ^^.

I've never leveled a melee class, so it is all new for me. If only I had the time, I would level club to get hexa strike. I want to say I'm only 40 levels from it...but I'll just get depressed when I actually log on and see its more like 75 levels :(. But I am ready to camp the pirates to get my club(s). The +15 accuracy will greatly help my skill up rate.

One thing though Mal. When you say 'just like him', I think it would be more wise to not put a video of yourself using 3rd party software in FF when the TOS specifically show the punishments for such software. One...he is more than likely using an app like fraps to record the video. Technically it is considered running 3rd party software...but that seems rather low to ban someone for fraps. If you look closely at the Sea Horror fight however, you can tell he is using Windower (The TP percentage next to his name gives it away). Just a thought anyway...

Otherwise, thanks for making me waist about 25 mins at work with the video :)

Ya

I didn't mean I would use a 3rd party program to put a video on the web, I just want those clube, he has both of the clubs you get from the Pirates.

true

Heh, just giving you a hard time.

Now to begin my pirate hunting session...

Heh

Well, first of all, he did sub /NIN. Subbing /NIN makes just about any job capable of soloing lots of stuff they otherwise wouldn't be able to :-)

Second, many of the NMs he is shown fighting are actually soloable by all jobs at 75. The Blackbeard one was impressive, as was Titan Prime, but we don't actually see him winning though (just lasting solo for a very long time).

Third, a lot of people don't understand the potential of surviving nasty onslaughts as a WHM. Many HNMLSes will actually utilize WHMs, RDMs, or BLMs as cannon fodder to keep HNMs busy until the rest of the group can come and kill it.

Fourth, holy crap! Did you see that guy typing all his spells? Egads!

spells o.o

How and why dose he type is spells GAH!~

Typing

If you actually have the skill, you can type all your spells. This is due to the fact that there is actually a delay in casting spells from macros, and I'm not talking about if you put in a /wait command. When using a macro the macro has to be "activated", when you type in the spell, ex. /ma "Warp" it instantly starts the spell.

Point of Interest, did you know that if you use the auto-translator you do NOT have to include the (") around the name of the spell?

bah WRONG

you do have to use "around auto-trans phrases" a few glitches allow you to by-pass this on some but not all songs, spells or spell like abilities. The (") is used by the programs compiler to know this is the action i want to call .... then run towards the pointer, that would be the target command [t], [bt] etc. sometimes you'll find the samething happens in actual compilers "whitespace" isn't supposed to effect lines of code, but on occassions it does, i'd not get in the happit of using auto-trans text as a declared variable in your macros. its just a really really really bad habbit.

Found that out

I recently found this out with my SAM job abilities, they did not work with out the ("), so i stand corrected.

ya

there is a delay in macros
you should get in the habit of adding an /echo "blah blah blah" in your macros rather than /p to know if your macro is actually running. I practice the art of "Free Casting" because of this... when you "Free Cast" you use macros only to switch gear, you speels are adjusted prior to each mob on effectiveness and likely hood of its use, then you manually cast. you can also type out job commands with simiular effect. ergo... /ja "Berserk" [me] however there are some fundmental problems with using this method.

1. if your WPM is low you'll die before you get a spell in the list (this tends to be a problem for younger players)
2. if your typing accuracy is low you'll die, simple spelling errors can be harmful
3. Macro lines and tags are cae sensitive
4. you have to know what target format the action applies to i.e [me], [t], [bt], [st], [stnpc] or [stpc]. using /ja "Berserk" [t] will never work.

so its double-edge, but if you can more power to you. :P

how?

same way and reason u type out warp i guess
