Even-Calendar Mondays CoP on January 30th
Submitted by Tamara on Tue, 01/17/2006 - 19:30.

So I have had a few learnings:
o basically entering the Crag, Aqueducts, BCNM, portal, whatever before 9:30pm Eastern on a Monday is a mostly foolish wish on my part
o basically some/most East Coast folks HAVE to leave at 11:30pm Eastern

So in the future we are looking at two-hour events (or less) for Even-Calendar Mondays CoP. I will plan accordingly.

A learning for you: I am just running these Events so Clan folk can make use of their CoP Expansion. If you are busy, or just plain-not-interested, it is not an insult to me =^_^=

For January 30th - I HAVE NOTHING PLANNED. You need to vote for what you want to do.

Possible Events are:
one Crag Spire Boss
one Crag ENM
a Minotaur Run
Subligar Farming (Tres Duendes at start, if enough participants)
Mammet Fight

I need at least two votes for the Same Event otherwise I shall interpret the lack of votes to mean that players would rather be in a private experience party on Monday Night.

Seems that Even-Mondays befor

Seems that Even-Mondays before CoP Events are problematic.

So I am going to move free cooking to two different spots:

o if it is an even-calendar FRIDAY I am going to do Free Cooking shout-outs on the two LinkShells I participate in

o if it is an even-calendar MONDAY I will do a Free Cooking shout-out if the CoP Event is over *AND* I have some free time remaining for that evening.

Next Even-Monday is January 30th, Drake Scale Farming is planned for the entire evening, free Cooking will likely NOT happen.

Next Even-Friday is February 10th.

Meretrix Vote

Primary Vote: Mammet Fight

Secondary Vote: One Crag ENM (taking THF/NIN)

Alternative Vote: Subligar Farming / Tres Duendes

Mammet

I'd second the Mammet fight. The only problem is the Mammet fight requires more preparation than we may be able to do for a Monday night event.

There are really several things needed for a successful Mammet run:

  • 1) Farm Dragon Scales. Farming the Dragon Scales before-hand is pretty much a necessity. When Arb and I went the group we were in pretty much sunk 5+ hours into farming these scales (we did do two attempts, so we needed to farm twice). The scales do not drop quickly at all.
  • 2) Have Yellow Liquid. Yellow Liquid is a must here as well as it helps with the boss (similar to Anima for Promy's, I'd say these were needed to ensure a win, but they have drastically different uses than Anima, of course). Yellow Liquids drop from the Mammets, which means you either need to do it once or buy them from the AH.
  • 3) Fully stocked equip. Nearly every strategy requires a lot of items. Melees need to be stocked on X-Potions and maybe Vile Elixirs. Mages need Yag Drinks, Ethers, and maybe Vile Elixirs. Depending on strategy, everyone needs a way to get reraise (typically by passing around an earring and everyone taking a hit).

Long story short, I don't have high confidence in a 2-5 run for the Monday night events.

Now, a Dragon Scale farming run in preparation would work. And if we had enough items and managed to get the scales quickly then we could certainly make a 2-5 attempt. But I'd want everyone to be sure that there would be a high likelihood of failure going into it.

What Trix said

I'm voting the same way Trix did. One note - the only ENM I will be able to do is MEA

I have the worst MGT professor this term. Not the "worst" in the sense that he is a mean, old, lonely man. "Worst" in the sense that class requirements are a bit... overwhelming.

Add a full-time career, two other graduate classes, plus one {Mega Boss} and you get limited time to play FFXI this semester

I would love to be able to continue to participate in your Monday night events. However, I am "one of those people that MUST leave around 1130ish EST."

Since the listed start time for the event is 9:30 EST, I do not expect the event to begin prior to 10:15 EST. If that is the case, I will not be able to attend. If we start on time, I'm in.

Three Votes for the Same Thing

Okay, accepted =^_^=
