As many of you know, I play in the wee hours of the morning. I work nights, and so this is when I play. When I am online, the predominant nationality of the players is Japanese. There are also some Europeans, but they are too low to really party with me yet. Aside from my Asian brothers and sisters, I have a small number of friends I've made from the states (and Canada) who work nights like me. Several of us have formed a little psuedo-static party.

We have me (RNG/THF, if you didn't know), a SMN/WHM (our main healer), a NIN/WAR (our main tank), a MNK/WAR (backup tank and DD), a BLM/WHM (backup healer) and then a RDM/WHM and a BRD/WHM which we change out as needed. On the surface, this all seems great.

We have all managed to get to 53-54 using this setup, and it's been peachy-keen. Up until recently.

Lately, our SMN/WHM has begun working swing shifts (he works in a plant that mines stuff and processes it somewhere in the midwest), meaning he really is only on with the rest of us once or twice a week and then only for 30-40 minutes because our NIN/WAR gets off work just before he has to leave. 30-40 minutes isn't really much time to level.

In addition to that, or BRD/WHM has been AWOL for a week now, and the RDM/WHM got tired of waiting and has already passed us level-wise (last I checked, she was 57).

So our static has slowly been degenerating. Sam doesn't think too much of statics (we've talked a lot about it in #clanam on irc.freenode.net) but I was wondering what other people's thoughts or experiences with them are?
