Prime Avatar fight is done w/ 6 ppl only... and Must be schedule w/ the Host... I've Hosted alot of these fights for Clan members by Whisper's to me and the person needing... Ifrit, Shiva, Titan, and Ramuh can be done By Me and Arbelast pretty ez... If the Clan would like to have an event like this it must be ok by the Host 1st... Am not to sure of the thread going right now because it was just a suggestion to Help Avayr... Only Chats I got was from Tam and its not looking good at the moment to schedule an event until ppl r clear on wht is need to do this... Am very particular on how the fight is done and the way ppl move in these fights... I have trained Arbelast to help me on these fights b/c it takes timing. Me and Arbelast doing r job to win this fights... As much as I respect Maior and Tam Leads during Cops Missions; Primes fights r the same if u plan on living during them... If Maior would post a poll so we can see how many ppl would like to join an event like this I would be very happy...

Whisper me

LOL! Sounds better than Meretrix's "Fork Me"

Meretrix wants to do avatars, Meretrix comes on late, late night fights work for me on Tuesday nights, very late fights work for me on Wednesday nights. Other than that - pretty flexible!

So Meretrix wants the prime avatars and I would like to come along for the Whisper drops, please. I am only WHM 52 though, so if I get dropped from a party I understand =^_^=

My primary FFXI jobs are WHM/SMN and SMN/WHM. I intend to get the AF gear for both jobs (some day) and the purple doggy one day too!

I am having fun as SMN/NIN with dual Hermit's Wands on the avatar level 20 mini-battles! I have Garuda, Shiva, Ifrit already in the first 24 hours of fighting. Thank-you for the recommendation on Summoning Magic, Avatarx!

Every avatar has come up to beat on me inside the protocrystal but eventually Carbuncle WILL come out what with the dual Hermit's! LOL!

Six Tuning Forks

I wandered Vana'diel today (Rabao, Mhaura, Norg, Kazham, Port Bastok, North San d'Oria)and got my six Key Item Tuning Forks. Which is nice, but I have no idea how to get to most of these crystals by walking! =^_^=

I suppose I might be able to get to Cloister of Tremors on foot.

So if Avatarx finds an evening to schedule something like this I would enjoy coming along if someone shows me the way to the protocrystal, if the priority is such that the battles are for Avayr - that is fine also. If someone who does not even know about the Tonberry Temple would be a hindrance - I understand. I have next to no maps for the areas outside the protocrystals.

Just getting prepared in case there is an opening.

Leviathan

On Sunday I spent most of my day with Cyclonus in an Optical Hat party (true to form, I was the last person to get my O.Hat... my lots generally suck and I'm such a nice bastard I always let others go ahead of me... in fact, it almost didn't happen because we had lost so many people).

Anyway, after the O.Hat run a few people left wanted to go and get Leviathan since we were so close to the protocrystal. Since they had room, I figured I'd tag along.

Long story short, Leviathan is a wuss. We had one 70+ SMN in our group who didn't even need to use his 2 hour. The only 2 hour that was used was a single Chainspell that only got off one spell before we demolished Leviathan.

I was even tanking Leviathan as MNK/NIN (I lacked voke, but I was outdamaging everyone else) and I barely took any damage. Heck, Leviathan's Astral Flow only did around 150 points of damage to me (and, since I had 1600+ to begin with, it was a drop in the bucket).

We only had 5 people in our Leviathan fight and only 1 SMN (who didn't 2 hour). So, I wouldn't worry too much about him (if you chose to do the Prime battle).

Arb's thread

Well, FYI, Arb posted a thread where he scheduled an event for next week (monday). His original thread was here.

In that thread, there was a lot of discussion. There were general problems with it however:

  • Arb posted a day but not a time.
  • Arb posted no information about what was needed for the fights. I posted a lot of links for resources to help out.
  • The day Arb picked for the event conflicted with a scheduled maintenance. I know that the maintenance would be done by the evening, but with everyone downloading updates there was no guarantee they'd be able to get on.

Because of these things, I ultimately removed it from the 2 week calendar.

I think from the original thread it is evident there is plenty of interest in some prime fights (18 replies at this time), so I personally see no real need for a poll at this time.

However, in order for the event to go what we really need is the following (and this is needed generally for any event, so it's nothing new):

  • Day and time for the event.
  • Any limitations on the event (e.g., level limits, party limits, etc).
  • Any pre-requisites (e.g., getting your tuning forks).
  • Where to meet.

Ava, from my experience you cannot count on people to reply to any event post whether or not they will show. Generally speaking, people just show up for the event.

I know this makes events like this that have rigid pre-requisites harder to do, so what I would recommend is, if you host an event make sure and explicitly say the event will be on a first come, first serve basis.

In other words, the first 3 people to show up ready to go will be who you take. If others show up late or miss out on being part of that first 3 it's too bad.... they should have showed up earlier :-)

I know that sounds mean, but it can't be helped. If people simply aren't willing to put forth the effort and come prepared and on time or early to an event then there's nothing the event leader can do about it.

Anyway, if you do host an event I'll show up on time and ready. However, since I don't plan on leveling SMN any time soon I would be willing to bow out if someone else showed up on time and prepared who needed it more.

General thought

What am looking for from the forum is a general ideal of who would like to go on these runs... Prep time and run time is not a simple short time... In General Fame is based on doing the Prime Avatar runs... If u would really want to know more on the subject please check out WWW.SUMMONER.INFO... If u have ne question about things u can email me or ask me why am on line... Runs can last as long as 3-4 hrs to complete... If ppl would like help am sure we can find ppl to help... Why I didnt want to make an event out of it is b/c its usually a one time thing... Helping LS members is fine but am not trying to do a run for ever person on the Pheonix server needing an avatar run... Glad Sam posted the info he did and I'll check it for accurancy...
